A specially trained team of peers will present a new virtual reality drunk driving simulator at Eckener School in Flensburg to inform students about the risks of drunk driving.
The "DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE" initiative (DADD) was founded by the leading German associations in the alcohol beverage industry. Its aim is to reduce the number of accidents caused by alcohol and to promote responsible drinking. The initiative, which is aimed at young drivers aged between 18 and 24, has existed since 1993 and is thus one of the oldest ongoing traffic safety initiatives in Germany. Since 2014, DDAD has been targeting vocational colleges with its "DDAD Academy" concept. DDAD Academy events in 2018 are taking place in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein under the patronage of Schleswig-Holstein's minister of transport, Dr. Bernd Buchholz.
